Happy Catholic Schools Week!
Today is Flannel/Dress like a Cowboy day! Everyone looks great! Hope you all can make it to our special Mass on Friday to celebrate the end of Catholic School Week. The students are excited to have Grandparents come and visit! The extended 4k just finished up learning about Moses and the Ten Commandments last week. The 3rd grade religion class is working on a chapter about the Four Marks of the Church (feel free to quiz them - One! Holy! Catholic! Apostolic!). All is good here! Hope you are doing well too! God bless, -Miss Corrie #TuesdayswithMissCorrie

Good afternoon!
Thank you for your prayers! I had a wonderful pilgrimage to the March for Life! (I am sure a few of you saw it on social media and the news!) I appreciate everyone's well wishes and a happy welcome back! This week is Catholic Schools Week! How exciting and how blessed we are to be in a Catholic school. We are able to teach our faith and focus on positive values. St. Francis De Sales said, "Of what use to me is all I learn if I do not become holy?" I will update again as usual on Tuesday (tomorrow)! Thanks and God bless, -Miss Corrie PS - travel safely this evening! Good evening! I have a few minutes to do my Tuesday update! ;) This week in Extended 4k we are learning about Moses, the Ten Commandments, and following God's will. Today we learned a new song called "Trading My Sorrows" which reminds us to always say YES LORD, just like Moses did! In 3rd grade religion class we are finishing up our section on Ordinary Time/Liturgical Calendar and onto chapter 8 - the Four Marks of the Church... can you remember the four marks of the Church? Try to quiz them at home! (one, holy, catholic, apostolic!) Today in After School Care we watched some episodes of The Berenstain Bears show! We don't watch cartoons very often after school so it was a real treat! You can find many of the episodes right on youtube! Lastly, I will not be at school the rest of the week! I am chaperoning a pilgrimage to the March for Life in Washington D.C. Please pray for us! If you would like to learn more go to www.marchforlife.org. If you need to contact me, feel free to email me at anytime. Thank you! Have a great week! You are beautiful and loved! -Miss Corrie #TuesdayswithMissCorrie Good afternoon everyone!
Hope you enjoyed our snow (ice) day yesterday - and of course, stayed safe! The 2nd quarter ends this week! Wow! We are half way done with the school year! Time flies when you are having fun! Don't forget, there is NO 4k tomorrow (Thursday) - no school for all grades on Friday, January 20th. Last weekend I helped at a retreat. It was a high school retreat to help prepare our group for the upcoming March for Life pilgrimage. One of the sessions was about family life and the domestic church. I really wanted to share with you one of the resources we talked about from the USCCB on how to make your family life a "domestic church". Since parents are the primary educators of a child, I thought this would be a helpful link to pass along! Have a blessed week! -Miss Corrie from: http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/vocations/parents/tools-for-building-a-domestic-church.cfm TOOLS FOR BUILDING A DOMESTIC CHURCH According to the Second Vatican Council’s Dogmatic Constitution on the Church: “The family, is so to speak, the domestic church.” (Lumen Gentium #11) This means that it is in the context of the family that we first learn who God is and to prayerfully seek His will for us. In the following bullet points you will find some suggestions on how to build your “domestic church” through a life of prayer that can help all the members of your family.
Good afternoon everyone! I missed my Tuesday update this week due to the snow day. Hope you enjoyed the day off! Here are a few photos from this week! :)
Happy Friday, everyone!
Here are a few photos from the week! The top left photo is from after care in the block center of the classroom. They enjoyed the new white blocks/tubes to build a castle. The top right photo is from yesterday when Extended 4k class and I visited the Church. We bundled up for the short walk over! The bottom photo is from 3rd grade religion class project. They worked in partners to write their own song that celebrates Christmas season and Jesus' birth. :) Have a glorious weekend - stay warm! -Miss Corrie Happy New Year!
Can you believe it is 2017 already? Wow! And, in two weeks it will be the end of 2nd quarter! Half way done with the school year! In the next two weeks, extended 4k will be continuing the Christmas season theme but also adding in winter/snow... we are "more unique than a snowflake" and Jesus loves us "snow" much! Each snowflake is so beautiful, detailed, and intricate - as God intended. Each of us are even *more* unique and beautiful than that! Wow! It is great to be a beloved child of God! This week and next week in 3rd grade we are continuing the Christmas season unit as well as start chapter six which is all about the liturgical calendar. We are having some fun this week with the Christmas unit. We are glad that Christmas isn't over yet! We are still celebrating Jesus' birthday! Have a blessed week! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! -Miss Corrie #TuesdayswithMissCorrie |
