Good afternoon everyone!
Hope you enjoyed our snow (ice) day yesterday - and of course, stayed safe! The 2nd quarter ends this week! Wow! We are half way done with the school year! Time flies when you are having fun! Don't forget, there is NO 4k tomorrow (Thursday) - no school for all grades on Friday, January 20th. Last weekend I helped at a retreat. It was a high school retreat to help prepare our group for the upcoming March for Life pilgrimage. One of the sessions was about family life and the domestic church. I really wanted to share with you one of the resources we talked about from the USCCB on how to make your family life a "domestic church". Since parents are the primary educators of a child, I thought this would be a helpful link to pass along! Have a blessed week! -Miss Corrie from: http://www.usccb.org/beliefs-and-teachings/vocations/parents/tools-for-building-a-domestic-church.cfm TOOLS FOR BUILDING A DOMESTIC CHURCH According to the Second Vatican Council’s Dogmatic Constitution on the Church: “The family, is so to speak, the domestic church.” (Lumen Gentium #11) This means that it is in the context of the family that we first learn who God is and to prayerfully seek His will for us. In the following bullet points you will find some suggestions on how to build your “domestic church” through a life of prayer that can help all the members of your family.
